Undefeated in League, Unforgettable as a Team

The Mammoth High School girls volleyball team gave Husky Nation a lot to cheer for this fall. The Huskies went undefeated in regular-season and league play, won the league championship, and entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed.

As the season came to a close, Principal Dr. G shared a message with the players that captured what so many of us wanted them to hear:

WE SAW YOU. We saw your effort, your heart, your growth, and the way you showed up for one another. And we could not be prouder of you.

Dr G's message to the team is included in its entirety, below.

When the seniors reflected on the season, they talked about what they’d learned, how much the team meant to them, and what they’ll carry with them after their final match. They remembered watching last year’s upperclassmen compete hard and look out for one another. This year, they gave their younger teammates the same example to follow.

Congratulations to our league champions, and thank you to the coaches, families, and fans who supported them all season. Seniors, we’re proud of what you accomplished together and grateful for what you’ve given the next group of Huskies to build on.

As we reflect on this incredible season, I want our players, especially our seniors, to know something important: WE SAW YOU. We saw your effort, your heart, your growth, and the way you showed up for one another. And we could not be prouder of you.

To our seniors, you have earned the right to hold your heads high. You have been part of something special, a legacy of hardworking teammates who step onto the court, compete with everything they have, and leave it all out there. Last year, you watched the upperclassmen set that standard. You saw how they fought for one another, pushed through challenges, and took pride in wearing the MHS jersey. You carried that example with you, and this year, you raised the bar for yourselves and your teammates. Now, you are passing that same expectation on to the players who will follow you.

That is what a legacy looks like.

League Champions. The #1 seed. Undefeated in regular-season and league play. Those accomplishments do not happen by accident. They are the result of commitment, sacrifice, trust, and countless hours of hard work. They are the product of a team that believed in itself and understood that success is built together. You earned every bit of recognition that comes with those accomplishments, and you should be incredibly proud of what you achieved as a team.

And to our seniors, please know that your impact goes far beyond the wins and final scores. Today, hearing you share what you learned, how much this season meant to you, and what you will carry with you from this experience was truly heartwarming. It reminded us that the greatest measure of a season is not just what a team accomplishes, but also who its players become along the way. The lessons, friendships, memories, and standards you leave behind will continue to shape this program long after your final match.

You gave this season everything you had. You competed with heart, represented Mammoth High School with pride, and left it all out on the court. No matter how much you may wish the season could continue, you can look back knowing that you gave yourselves and your teammates a season worth celebrating. You did yourselves proud. You did your team proud. And you made your school and community proud.

To our returning players, the torch is now in your hands. Remember what you witnessed this year. Remember the standard your teammates set, the work it took to reach this level, and the feeling of being part of something bigger than yourselves. The expectation is not simply to repeat what has been done, but to build on it, to grow together, and to keep pushing this program toward its next great achievement.

This legacy is not ending. It is growing.

Every season, every team, and every player adds another chapter to the story of MHS Girls Volleyball. The players who came before you helped establish the standard. This year's team carried it forward and raised it even higher. The players who follow will have the opportunity to build upon what you have accomplished. That is how a great program is built, not in a single season, but through years of dedication, shared expectations, and a collective belief in what is possible.

And to our entire Husky community, thank you for believing in these young women, cheering them on, and supporting them throughout this journey. A program becomes special when players, coaches, families, and a community come together around something they believe in. This team has given us every reason to keep believing.

The dream is still alive. The work will continue. Each year, a new group of Huskies will take the court carrying the legacy of those who came before them, determined to take this program one step further.

And one day, when that MHS CIF championship ring is placed on the hands of our players, it will represent more than the achievement of a single team. It will represent every team that believed it was possible, every player who gave everything she had, every coach who invested in these young women, and every season that brought this program closer to that moment.

The dream belongs to all of us, and every team has a part in making it a reality.

Seniors, thank you for what you gave this program. Thank you for the example you set, the memories you created, and the standard you are passing forward. Your time on the court may have come to an end, but your place in this program's story is permanent. You will always be part of this Husky family, and we will always be proud to say that you were part of this team.

Hold your heads high, Huskies. Celebrate what you accomplished, cherish what you shared, and be proud of the legacy you continue to build. Your season may be over, but the dream lives on, the work continues, and your legacy will live in every Husky team that follows.

With tremendous Husky pride,

Dr. G

Principal, Mammoth High School
