The 2026 Mammoth High School girls volleyball season is off to an impressive start — and the Huskies are already making a little history.
Mammoth opened its season last weekend at the annual Yerington High School Tournament, where 24 teams gathered for two days of competition. The Huskies came out strong, cruising to a 4-0 record on Friday and earning the opportunity to play their way into Saturday's Gold Bracket.
They did exactly that.
On Saturday morning, Mammoth defeated Dayton in three sets to advance to the Gold Bracket. The Huskies went on to battle their way through the field and earn a spot in the Gold Championship match against perennial Northern Nevada powerhouse Carson.
Mammoth fought hard and played well against the Senators before falling in two sets — finishing the weekend second out of 24 teams.
Even better? It was the best finish ever by a Mammoth team at the Yerington Tournament.

📅 September 11 & 12🏐 Mammoth Invitational Tournament📍 Mammoth High School
We'll include the tournament schedule below, so save the dates and come out to cheer on the Huskies!

Booster Members Get Into Home Volleyball FREE!
If you needed another reason to join MHS Boosters this year, here it is.
2026–27 MHS Booster family memberships include admission to regular-season home football, volleyball AND basketball games. Depending on your membership level, your family can receive up to four admissions per game.
That means your Booster membership doesn't just support programs benefiting students throughout Mammoth High School — it also gives you a great reason to get into the stands and support our student-athletes all year long.
And for families with seniors, there's another important benefit: students whose families are qualifying Booster members may be eligible for an MHS Booster Academic Award of up to $1,000 during their senior year, provided they meet the academic requirements.
It's a pretty great combination: support MHS students, save on admission, show up for our Huskies, and create an additional opportunity for your own student.
Come Cheer Them On!
A second-place finish against a 24-team field is a pretty exciting way to begin a season — especially when it's the best Mammoth has ever done at Yerington.
Congratulations to our players and coaches on an outstanding opening weekend. We can't wait to see what this team does next.
See you in the gym September 11 & 12!
🐾 Go Huskies!
