Why Volunteering Matters
Unlike many school districts, Mammoth Unified School District does not fund sports and activities. As a result, every sport, club, and program at Mammoth High School must raise the money needed for essential expenses such as travel, safety equipment, uniforms, and competition fees. Much of this critical support is made possible through the work of Boosters and the generosity of our community.
Boosters supports students both directly — through financial contributions — and indirectly through visibility, advocacy, and community engagement. When we work together, our students gain opportunities that would not otherwise exist: safe and reliable travel to competitions, access to quality training environments, appropriate equipment, academic recognition programs, and the pride that comes from knowing their community believes in them and stands behind their efforts.
Volunteering isn’t just about giving time. It’s about:
Making a measurable difference for students right here in our community
Creating equity among students with different resource needs
Building a culture of support and celebration
Showing kids that the community believes in them
Even the smallest contributions add up. Many hands make light work — and help prevent burnout among the same few who often carry the load.

Why We Need You Now
This work matters deeply. Decades of educational research consistently show that students who participate in school sports, arts, clubs, and extracurricular activities perform better academically, exhibit stronger social and behavioral outcomes, and experience higher rates of high-school graduation and college enrollment. Participation is linked to increased attendance, improved GPA, reduced disciplinary issues, stronger mental health, and better long-term life outcomes. In short, being involved helps students succeed — in school and beyond.

That’s why this moment is so important. Boosters plays a key role in ensuring that all students — regardless of background or financial barriers — have access to the opportunities that shape character, build resilience, and open doors.
This is an exciting time to get involved. We’re looking for volunteers, committee members, team liaisons, and future board members who believe in the power of community and want to help support every student who steps onto a field, into a classroom, onto a stage, or into a competition.
Your time, creativity, and expertise can make a real difference. There is a role for everyone, and every contribution — big or small — moves our students forward.
