The Mammoth High School Volleyball program had a truly exceptional 2025 season — not only in competition, but in the teamwork and community support that made it all possible.
On the court, the results speak for themselves. MHS Volleyball placed 2nd or 3rd in every preseason tournament, went undefeated in league play at both the JV and Varsity levels, finished 2nd in Central Section Division 4, and advanced all the way to the State Regional Final (State Semifinals). It was an extraordinary run and a season the program will long be proud of.
Behind that success was something equally important: the ability to fully fund the program. Running a competitive high school volleyball season requires significant resources — travel, hotel stays, tournament fees, uniforms, equipment, officials, and transportation all add up. In 2025, the total cost to operate the volleyball program was approximately $30,000.
Thanks to a combination of creative fundraising, student involvement, and community generosity, those funds were successfully raised.
How the Program Was Funded
The volleyball program relied on several key fundraising efforts throughout the year:
MHS Volleyball Camp: Held in early August and open to students in grades 5–10, the camp is run by MHS coaches with support from returning Varsity players. Camp tuition serves as both a skills-building opportunity for younger athletes and an important revenue source for the program.
Mammoth Volleyball Invitational: Hosted September 5–6, this two-day tournament welcomed 12 teams from across California and utilized both MHS and MMS facilities. Revenue was generated through team entry fees, admissions, and concessions.
Season Sponsorships: In conjunction with the Invitational, local businesses, families, and supporters contributed $500 or more as season sponsors. Sponsors were recognized on a tournament sponsor poster and featured on the official tournament T-shirt.
Home Game Admissions and Concessions: Community turnout at home matches played a meaningful role in supporting the program throughout the season.
Vertical Raise Fundraiser: Each student-athlete participated by reaching out to family, friends, and local businesses to raise donations in their name, reinforcing personal investment in the program’s success.
Booster Club Support: Generous Mammoth High Booster Club members provided critical shared funding that helped bridge gaps and ensure the program could fully compete.

Building Ownership and Pride
Whenever possible, student-athletes were directly involved in fundraising efforts. This approach helps players develop a sense of ownership in the program, understand the resources required to compete at a high level, and appreciate the community support behind every match, trip, and achievement.
The 2025 volleyball season stands as a powerful example of what happens when athletic excellence, student leadership, and community investment come together — a true team effort both on and off the court.
