Why We Switched to Subscription Memberships — and What It Means for You

At the Mammoth High Booster Club we’re proud to be an all-volunteer organization. Over the years our volunteers have spent countless hours tracking down renewals, chasing dues, and manually updating rosters. To spend more of that time supporting our community and less on paperwork, we moved to a subscription membership model — and we want you to know why this change is better for you and for our Huskies.

Predictable support = more impact
Recurring memberships provide a steady, predictable stream of sponsorship for Boosters that lets us plan ahead with confidence. Instead of scrambling each year to cover essentials, we can budget for teacher/coaches’ requests, equipment, senior awards, and travel with a clearer sense of what will be available. This aligns our practices with other nonprofits, since experts agree that reliable recurring revenue is one of the biggest advantages of modern membership programs for nonprofits.
Less admin, more support
Switching to subscriptions reduces administrative overhead dramatically. That means fewer volunteer hours spent on renewals, fewer billing errors, and faster processing — all of which frees up our volunteers to organize events, recruit new members, raise funds, and directly support you and focus on our mission. In practice, membership programs also lower our operational cost in keeping a member compared with repeatedly recruiting and re-onboarding every year, freeing up more resources for services to students and MHS.
Smoother experience for members
For you, the supporter, subscriptions are simpler and more convenient. Sign up once and you’re done — no more remembering renewal dates or digging through emails. Subscriptions make it easier for us to deliver benefits consistently (like free entry to regular season games), to communicate timely updates, and to offer perks without added friction. We're hoping that our new subscription model encourages stronger, longer-term connections between you and Boosters, and helps us to be more agile and responsive to the needs of not only the school but also our sponsors.
Helps us grow and be resilient
When our sponsorships are predictable, our volunteers can focus on and pursue bigger goals: expanding our investment in students, investing in technology (like Hudl), or setting aside travel and academic awards funds. Recurring giving also improves our credibility with grantmakers and partners because it shows steady community commitment. For small volunteer nonprofits like ours, that kind of stability levels the playing field.
Benefits to You — clear, practical, and flexible
Saves time: sign up once and let us handle the rest.
Immediate perks: membership still includes free entry to regular-season home games and member-only updates delivered immediately, without manual delays.
Flexible choices: there are lots of plan options to meet the needs of your family or business; and you can take all the time you need to compare online before you choose.
Cancel any time: if your situation changes you can cancel and keep access through your paid billing period (no surprise immediate cutoff unless you choose that). (See the step-by-step below.)
Cash/Check option: Prefer to pay with cash or check? You can still do that — just complete the sign-up online and request a unique coupon code so we can still automatically add you to our official list of sponsors and subscribers.
How to Cancel Your Plan

Although we hope to keep your support, if you do want to cancel we want this to be simple and transparent.
If you ever need to stop your subscription, here’s how you can do that through our site
:
Log in to mhsbooster.org.
Click your member profile at the top of the site.
Choose My Subscriptions from the dropdown.
Find the active plan, click the More Actions arrow next to it, then select Cancel Subscription.
Confirm Yes, Cancel. You’ll usually be given the choice to cancel now (service ends immediately) or cancel at end of billing period (the plan remains active through the paid period and will not renew).
How we handle cancellations and member questions
If a member cancels, your access remains active through the paid period unless you ask for immediate cancellation and removal.
We don’t automatically delete member data; you can request changes or removal by contacting our membership/partnership volunteers.
Our volunteers are happy to help with account questions — email us at the contact on the About US page and we’ll guide you.
Final note
Moving to a subscription model is about making our work as volunteers more effective and giving our students, teachers, and community more reliable support.
Your recurring membership let us give our mission and recipients the predictable backing we need to plan, learn, compete, and succeed. Thank you for being part of Husky Nation — steady support from caring community members like you is what makes our programs possible.
