The Mammoth High School Booster Club extends its heartfelt thanks to Mammoth Mercantile and the many community members who participated in our recent Shop Local, Support Local fundraising event.
Throughout the evening, families, friends, and supporters of Mammoth High School filled Mammoth Mercantile to shop, connect, and support local students. Guests browsed the store's thoughtfully curated collection of artisan foods, specialty beverages, home goods, gifts, personal care products, and locally crafted items while enjoying a fun community gathering centered around giving back.
As a special thank-you, the first five shoppers who spent $200 or more received generously packed gift bags courtesy of Mammoth Mercantile, adding an extra element of excitement to the evening. The bag included a bottle of Soto Sake, bath and beauty products, candy and snacks, and the popular "ski the states" playing cards.
The spirit of the event was captured by Mammoth Mercantile owners Sarah Keith and Teissia Treynet, whose commitment to community is apparent even in their their inventory, which is full of intententionally sourced goods from local artisans and craftspeople.
"We love this community so much, and any chance we get to bring people together and support our local kids, we're in. Mammoth shows up for each other — it's one of the things that makes this place so special."

That commitment was evident not only in hosting the event, but in Mammoth Mercantile's extraordinary generosity. The store donated 50% of the evening's earnings to the Mammoth High School Booster Club, resulting in a $500 contribution to support local students and school programs.
While the dollar amount is significant, the impact extends even further. Funds raised through Booster Club events help provide Academic Awards for graduating seniors, teacher grants, student enrichment opportunities, appreciation events, and support for programs across academics, athletics, arts, activities, and career-focused education. These funds help remove financial barriers to participation and ensure students have access to opportunities that enrich their high school experience.

The timing of the fundraiser is especially meaningful. Just days after the event, the Booster Club awarded Academic Awards to graduating seniors as they prepare for college, trade school, military service, and other career pathways. Community partnerships and fundraising events like the Mammoth Mercantile Shopping Night help make these awards and other student opportunities possible.
For shopper Teresa Frazier-Clark, who attended the event with her daughter, Scarlett, the evening reflected the best of what makes Mammoth Lakes unique.
"Small-town communities are built on neighbors helping neighbors. When families shop local and businesses support our schools, everyone plays a part in helping our students thrive. It's a reminder that when we come together, we can make a lasting difference for the kids who represent the future of our community."
Events like this demonstrate what makes Mammoth Lakes special. Local businesses, local families, and local students all benefit when the community comes together in support of one another.
On behalf of the Mammoth High School Booster Club, thank you to Sarah, Teissia, and the entire Mammoth Mercantile team for their remarkable generosity and commitment to local students. Thank you as well to everyone who attended, shopped, and helped make the evening a success.
Together, we are investing in the future of Mammoth High School—one local purchase at a time.
